Serving students in grades 9-12

Perspectives High School of Technology

Perspectives High School of Technology (TECH) integrates the use and understanding of technology throughout our rigorous and relevant college preparatory curriculum, providing students with a competitive advantage in college and beyond.

TECH students take advanced technology courses in a modern computing environment that supports server-based computing as well as web-based applications. Our tools include tablet computing, traditional desktops, and both wired/fixed and wireless/mobile thin clients. TECH scholars have the opportunity to graduate High School with Adobe Software™ certification which would externally cost up to $40,000. TECH offers students to enhance their educational experience by providing AP classes, an accelerated pathway for high-achieving students, and Dual Enrollment in partnership with City Colleges. Students can also participate in over 50 after school programs and athletic teams.

NOTICE TO PARENTS/GUARDIANS OF CHILDREN WITH DISABILITIES

Under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act, the District must provide students with disabilities with appropriate special education and related services to address their educational needs. If your student receives related services from the District through their Individualized Education Program (“IEP”) document, such as occupational therapy, physical therapy, social work, nursing services, and speech and language therapy, you may request copies of related service logs developed and maintained by the District for your child. These related service logs include information regarding the type and duration of related services administered to your child.

For a copy of your procedural safeguards, please click here: Procedural Safeguards SY23-24.

If you have any questions regarding your child’s special education services, please contact Amy Gambrel agambrel@pcsedu.org 312-604-2200.

Perspectives Charter Schools and Tech’s Lottery Policy for Student Admissions:

On a predetermined date in February, a public lottery for all grades other than 9th grade, will be held to determine admission to PCS for applications received by a pre-determined deadline at PCS Central Office (1530 S. State St., 2nd floor). All rising 9th graders will be admitted through the GoCPS universal high school application. Applicants are invited to attend the lottery if they choose. The lottery is network-wide and not specific to one PCS campus. Once applicant has been accepted through lottery, they enroll at the campus of their choice based on seat-availability. Seats are available on a first come, first serve basis.

Admission to PCS is based on the applicant successfully completing their previous years’ grade. Rising 10th, 11th and 12th grade students must submit transcripts for principal approval prior to enrollment to confirm that proper credits have been earned and student is on-track to graduate on time.

All applications received prior to the established deadline will be eligible for participation in the admissions lottery. Applications received after the lottery will be held on a numbered waitlist until open enrollment begins, depending on offers extended and seat availability.
