Christopher Crater

Christopher Crater is the Manager of Milestone Innovation and Impact for the My Brother’s Keeper (MBK) Alliance at the Obama Foundation. In this role, he drives strategic impact across the six MBK Milestones and oversees the Foundation’s strategy to expand opportunities for boys and young men of color in the communities surrounding the future Obama Presidential Center and throughout Chicago. Nationally, the MBK Alliance has invested over $6 million in grantee communities, reaching more than 500,000 youth. Locally, Christopher’s portfolio has invested over $3 million in place-based strategies addressing critical issues such as literacy, employment, graduation rates, and community safety.
Christopher has over a decade of experience in academic leadership, curriculum design, and study abroad oversight. Outside of his professional role, he serves as the Youth Ambassador and Board Member for the Washington Park Chamber of Commerce and is a member of the Board of Directors for Strides for Peace, the College Mentoring Experience, and the Young Men’s Educational Network.
He is also a proud member of the 100 Black Men of Chicago. Christopher earned his Bachelor’s degree from Mississippi Valley State University in 2011 and his Master’s degree from Arkansas State University in 2013.
